Nidesoft HTC Video Converter is a standard video converter. Although it may sound like this converter was designed to convert video files for playback on HTC phones, the application is really a multi-format converter which has support for a variety of devices. There are only two profiles for HTC devices - they can be used to convert files to 3GP and MP4. But there are more profiles for Zune than there are for HTC. My point is that if you own another converter by Nidesoft or by any other company and it can convert files to 3GP or MP4, you don't need this one.
The converter has a very basic design, with a video player on the right part of the screen, which can be used to play your videos before conversion. The conversion settings are at the bottom of the screen, where you select the conversion profile that you want to use. If you want to change the settings of a profile, you can click on the "Options" button at the top of the screen. There is a basic video editor for tasks like trimming and cropping. It can also be used to add a few very basic video effects.
In terms of performance, this converter is on par with other tools out there. It isn't the best converter, but it isn't the worst one either.
